Meet Our Pastor

        Dr. Larry Dexter Brown was born in Richmond, VA. He grew up in Henrico County. He is the fifth child of seven. He was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ at an early age.

 

 Dr. Brown has a B.S. Degree from Virginia State University in Business, a Master of Divinity Degree from Richmond Virginia Seminary, and a Doctor of Divinity Degree

from Richmond Virginia Seminary. In 2003, Dr. Brown received an earned Doctor of Ministry Degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio with a specialization in the Education of African American Youth. His book entitled "The Role of the Church in the Education of African American Youth" came out in the Spring of 2008. In 2005, his first book was published entitled "Help....My Money Keeps Running Away".

Dr. Brown is a former Adjunct Professor of Bryant & Straton College where he taught Philosophy & Religion.

Dr. Brown owns his on Bail Bonding Company and is also a Real Estate Investor.

His hobbies are reading and Karate. Dr. Brown holds a Black Belt in Okinawa Kenpo Karate and is a 4th Degree Black Belt Master in Karate Jutsu. 

Dr. Brown has been the pastor of the Gravel Run Baptist Church in Dinwiddie County for the past 30 years. He is married to the former Cynthia Lynch of Tower of Deliverance Church. He has three children, Kelly, Chalitta and Larry Jr. and four granddaughters.
